Feras serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors at MERAAS MENA IP and is the Managing Partner at Feras Alshawaf Law Firm and a Partner at MERAAS ARABIA IP, where he is a licensed lawyer and IP agent in Saudi Arabia. He actively contributes as a board member for several industrial and commercial companies. With extensive experience in both contentious and non-contentious legal matters, Dr. Alshawaf is recognized for his adeptness in navigating complex legal environments.

On the contentious front, he has effectively represented major corporate clients such as Huawei, Tekfen, Sansui, Pizza Hut, Olayan Group, and Incom (Italy) in high-stakes litigation and arbitration cases involving multi-million SAR disputes. His role as a mediator for large corporations further showcases his capability to manage and resolve intricate commercial conflicts. Dr. Alshawaf’s profound understanding of commercial law and industry insights allow him to provide strategic direction that aligns with the firm’s goals and enhances its competitive position.

As a member of the Saudi Arabian Bar and the Arbitration Committee of the GCC, he actively shapes the legal landscape in the region. Additionally, Dr. Alshawaf has contributed to academia by lecturing at Prince Sultan University in Riyadh, where he shares his expertise with future legal professionals.

Yassin is MERAAS MENA IP’s CEO and holds the General Manager and partner position at MERAAS ARABIA IP. With over 33 years of substantial experience overseeing intellectual property operations across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, he has established himself as a distinguished leader. His career features significant executive roles at esteemed firms, including SABA & CO. IP, BAZARBASHI Law Firm, and HADAF Marks Services LLC.

He actively involves and serves the IP community in various professional associations, such as JIPA, INTA, AIPLA, PTMG, AIPPI, APPIMAF, and MARQUES. Furthermore, he is a member of INTA’s Global Advisory Council for the Middle East, the Anticounterfeiting Committee, and the Middle East and Africa Subcommittee.
